Jankovic win seals Serbia berth

Jelena Jankovic's 6-3 6-2 win over Ai Sugiyama put Serbia through to the Fed Cup World Group play-offs for the first time at the expense of Japan.
The 23-year-old's victory, in front of her home crowd in Belgrade, gave the Serbians an unassailable 3-0 lead.
"I was a bit tense and nervous because I wanted this win so much," she said.
Slovakia secured a 4-1 win over Belgium, Ukraine beat Israel 3-2 and Germany defeated Switzerland 3-2 to all reach the play-offs.
Meanwhile, in the World Group, defending champions Russia romped to a 5-0 win over China to book their place in April's semi-finals. 606: DEBATE

They will travel to Italy who secured a place in the last four thanks to Flavia Pennetta's 6-2 6-2 win over France's Alize Cornet, in a tie they went on to win 5-0. Petra Kvitova's 6-4 7-5 victory over Spain's Nuria Llagostera Vives helped the Czech Republic reach the semis where they will either have a home tie against United States or travel to Argentina.
