ANKARA - Representatives from the Turkish Industrialists’ and Businessmen’s Association or TÜSİAD have visited Ankara to take the pulse of government officials on the talks with the International Monetary Fund and other economic topics.



State Minister and Deputy Prime Minister told members of TÜSİAD that talks with the were ongoing association chairwoman Arzuhan Doğan Yalçındağ said late Thursday.

"The discussions are a process and we were told it is continuing" Yalçındağ told members of the press after conducting a series of meetings with Babacan and other government officials. The main topics of the talks held with Babacan were the global economic crisis and developments in Turaaa Yalçındağ said adding that TÜSİAD highlighted the importance of establishing a rapid growth plan that would include reforms that were part of the previous program. Such a program is a must for Turaaa to come out of the economic conditions of contraction with minimal damage she said adding that the new program should also reinforce the country’s competitive power after the crisis.

Talks with State Minister and Deputy Prime Minister focused on structural reforms Yalçındağ said adding that the government is making efforts to implement such measures. The group’s meeting with Foreign Relations Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu centered on development in foreign policies; Davutoğlu was seen to take a positive approach to the business world.

TÜSİAD members also met with Ömer Dinçer the minister of labor and social security. The ministry is working on developing a new severance benefit system without losing earned rights said Yalçındağ. The group also met with Education Minister Nimet Çubukçu and Justice Minister
